NSW Rural Fire Service OIP
AUAVS recently had the pleasure to deliver four Operator Induction Programs (OIPs) to members of the NSW Rural Fire Service across the state. These programs were held in Armidale, Dubbo, Queanbeyan and Sydney.
Similarly to AUAVS’s standard operator induction program, members learned basic drone skills and maneuvers, and were also provided an introduction to AVCRM. However, in order to better suit the needs and capabilities of NSWRFS, members of this program also completed their Remote Pilots License (RePL) in combination with the OIP.
NSWRFS members were also shown learnings and experience from AUAVS with regards to emergency response and management with UAVs, which included the utilisation of DJI Flight Hub as an intelligence platform where pilots on the ground are able to provide real-time data and video streams to an operations center.
Many thanks to supervisor Nick Newton and our educators who traveled far and wide to deliver these programs.
Drone in a Box (DIAB) Trials
Recently the team travelled up to Evans Head to trial our Drone in a Box (DIAB) capability, testing its ability to enhance our capability in a range of scenarios.
This involved AUAVS flying the DIAB from our ROC (Remote Operations Centre) in Sydney and a team on the ground flying a M30T in order to compare the efficiency and efficacy of each solution and how they can be implemented together.
Overall, this trial was a great success and has allowed AUAVS once again to show our advanced capability and modern solutions – which are able to enhance beach safety, emergency response, wildlife data collection and a range of other operational objectives.
We’d also like to thank Evans Head-Casino SLSC for assisting us to run these trials.
